Wednesday the 3rd of July was our Annual BBQ, we were all keeping an eye on the weather and hoping it would be fine, our prayers were answered and we had a lovely sunny afternoon and evening. We had 62 people attending and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, plenty of good food, lots of salads and of course scrumptious desserts. Lots of laughter and being able to catch up with old friends. All waiting for our next event to happen.
With some in-trepidation due to the heavy rain and some flooding we set off for our first trip out this year to Boston” We’ll Meet Again WW2 Museum. Wow what a surprise we all got when we arrived at the museum, what a place so many things to see in the museum. We were welcomed by the owner Paul and Linda and they gave us a talk about how the museum came about. Then we had time to look round before Paul gave us the Blitz Experience, that was really something. Afterwards tea and cake was provided. What a fantastic place everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.
On Monday the 3rd June Jean held her annual Golf Tournament in memory of her husband Mike. The weather was fine and dry, just right for golf. The winner of the trophy this year was Graham Houlton. On the day Jean raised £250 for the Heart Support Group. Well done Jean and thanks to everyone who took part.
What a lovely day we had on Wednesday the 15th May at the Health & Wellbeing day which was in the beautiful Walled Garden at Baumber Nr Horncastle. The Heart Support Group had a stand along with the cardiac nurses who were kept very busy all day doing blood pressure checks.
On Wednesday the 8th May the weather outside was miserable, cold and wet but inside the Coronation Hall in Woodhall Spa everyone was enjoying an afternoon of dancing and tea and cakes. It was East Lindsey Heart Support Group’s annual Tea Dance and 70 people attended. Lots of lovely cakes , sandwiches and of course scones, along with plenty of dancing provided by ‘Just Colin’. We would like to thank Colin for arranging the music and dancing, everyone who made the delicious cakes and everyone who brought the raffle prizes. On the afternoon we made a profit of £290, this will help with the running of the group.
On the 6th March we held our AGM with 31 members attending. There was no change to the committee and Nick Adams is happy to continue as President for a further year. The AGM was followed by a buffet and raffle, people mingled and were able to chat to each other. Everyone is looking forward to the coming years events.
