Sponsored Walk Around Woodhall Spa

Sunday 24th June 2018


1st Walk – Start walk at 8 Spa Road LN10 6PZ  then on to the Golf Course, from there by road through Woodhall Spa and past the Golf Hotel to Chris & Nev’s daughters house for lunch.

After the first walk we break for lunch courtesy of Chris & Nev’s daughters.

2nd Walk- after lunch we make our way past Jubilee park to Green Lane, we now walk down Green Lane for about a mile we then go left down a public footpath until we reach Witham Road (B1191) we again go left until we reach the roundabout we then go left down Stixwould Road back to Jubilee park.

A walk along a public footpath in the area of Snipe Dales Country Park and Nature          Reserve, about an hour, difficult in places.

Thedlethorpe Dunes Nature Reserve

This walk takes you through meadow, dune and saltmarsh and is about 2 miles.

Meet at Nature Reserve (RIMAC)car park. Take the B1200 from Louth to join the

A1031to Mablethorpe, after 1/3mile turn left into Nature Reserve.

Woodhall Spa Ostlers Plantation

An easy circular walk around Ostlers Plantation on country paths and tracks.

Turn off Horncastle road into Kirby Lane / Moore Lane for 1 mile past the cemetery on the right then turn right into single track Lane to Ostlers Plantation, large car park. Post code LN10 6YY

. Horncastle Canal Walk

Sunday 29th July 2018 11am

A walk along Horncastle Canal Bank, starting at Thornton Lodge walking along the Canal towards Horncastle and back.

Start point at Thornton Lodge. (Car park across the road) Take the A153 south of Horncastle, go past Banovallum School and after you pass the Garage on the right take next right down a narrow road to the bridge car park

Post Code LN9 5LB This walk is about 2 miles and takes about an hour.

Trusthorpe New Walk

 Flower Festival

Sunday 5th Aug 2018 11am

A 2 mile walk across fields on public footpaths to the promenade. Return via Trusthorpe Chapel Flower Festival for refreshments. Salad lunches (£3.50) and deserts (£2,50) also available.

Alvingham Two Churches

Sunday 12th Aug 2018 11am

This walk takes you on level ground alongside Louth Canal, on lanes and across

fields to the neighbouring village of North Cockerington and back. It may be muddy in places at certain times of the year.

How to get there= go down North Holme road past My Fathers Moustache then turn left on to Keddington road at X roads straight over still Keddington road, stay on this road, very windy for about 2 miles go right on Lock road to North Cockerington after sharp left bend then where road goes right you go straight on through village then go left into Grange lane and on past Grange farm about a 6th mile, stop at bridle way.

Park responsibly on verge. Distance about 3 miles about 1 ¾   hours.

Woodhall Spa Railway Walk

Sunday 2nd Sept 2018 11am

To walk the Railway walk starting from the picnic area on the B1191 road Horncastle to Woodhall Spa. We walk towards Woodhall Spa till we reach Sandy Lane, we then retrace our steps back to the picnic area.

Meet at Picnic area on the B1191 this is about 3 miles.

Franks Meadows Manby (Manby Flats)

Sunday 9th Sept 2018 11am

Meet at East Lindsey District Council car park. This walk will take about 1 ½ hours at a leisurely pace. We walk along paths, roads and across pastures that allows access to view points, overlooking the wetland created on the Long Eau to contain floodwater.

 Alford Circular Walk

Sunday 16th Sept 2018 11am

A circular walk across fields to Alford Windmill then back through the town to the market place. This walk is about 2 miles and takes about 1-hour 15minutes (not including stop for refreshments).

Gibraltar Point

This is a gentle stroll through one of England’s best-known nature reserves, around the

dunes of Gibraltar point approximately 1 ½ miles

Park in visitor center car park Post code PE24 4SU Gibraltar Road Skegness.

Directions: In Skegness drive down front to clock tower, turn right into

Lumley Road then first left into Drummond Road, continue on Drummond

Road which then becomes Gibraltar Road on past Seacroft Golf course, park at visitor centre   approx. 3 miles)

A circular walk around Sandilands, Acre Gap and returning on Prom about 2.4 miles.
